The main protagonist Senku is a self-taught Scientist who has a best friend called Taiju.
After some strange glow turns every human and swallow to stone Senku begins counting to keep track of the time so that he knows when it's spring - when it's most likely that he will be able to survive.
He counts for 3715 years and 241 days, that's more than a hundred billion seconds, before he is released from the stone and when he wakes up he writes down the date.
Senku then begins to use his knowledge of science to return humanity back to its former glory.
That's bad (that's one of the catchphrases), 10 billion percent (that's another one) can't wait till the next season!
