Ryota Sakamoto is a 22-year-old NEET and one of the world's best Btooom! players. Btooom! is a combat video game in which players fight with bombs. One day, his mother gets tired of him, and gives consent for him to be taken away. The next thing he knows, Ryota is on an island playing a real life game of Btooom!.
Although I didn't particularly like the dark and sinister art style, it really did match well with the atmosphere.
The best thing about this anime has to be Rayoto's character development, which is something you don't get with a lot of other protagonists.
The romance between the MC and Himiko is also really well done.
