A coming-of-age romantic survival drama with great visuals, both of the bright sunny bay of the tropical island paradise and the sea surrounding it filled with colourful fish and coral -- not to mention Emmeline's beautiful figure.
The film is about two children who are stranded on a tropical island with the ship's cook after their ship catches fire. Although he looks a little rough, the cook is a kind fellow and looks after the children until one day he has too much to drink, goes for a swim and dies (exactly how is not clear, but he probably drowned).
After that, the two have to look after themselves. They grow up, fall in love and end up having a child together (the ending is a bit unclear though).
The film is well-paced, comedic and surprisingly relatable at times!
